14Hope is a mecca for ATVers. It is surrounded by the best trails and hills in the entire region. Hope has 300 acres and is an island surrounded by thousands of BLM land that are lined with ATV trails. It is a luxury to be able to ride out of the gates of the park right onto the best trails you can find. Old mines, Indian petroglyphs, sod houses and much more of the old west is found out within the beauty of the cactus and the mountains. The views are incredible!

You can see by the photo that our residents are creative and enjoy the spirit of the ride. You never know what you’re going to see while riding in the desert. The residents in Ramblin Roads RV Resort generally get together and plan a ride every Tuesday. They go out for the day and have a lot of fun exploring new terrain.  These rides are adventurous for the beginner to the advanced with treasures along the way. ATVers and four wheel drivers will have the greatest adventures in the outback of this fantastic terrain. There are old abandoned mines with sparking rocks all around them. You’ll find caves with Indian markings and old west sod houses from the early 1900’s. If you want to feel the old west this is the best way to do it!

Once a month  the park puts together a poker ride. It’s an all day event starting with breakfast. ATV’s and 4 wheel drives fight the desert terrain for that next card to make the best poker hand possible. If you don’t ride you can send your card along with a rider.  The winner and loser is announced at dinner. Everybody is a winner because it’s always fun for all…even the canine riders!

One of the many jewels found along the way while our residents were ATVing through the desert. The Saguaro Cactus can grow to 70 feet tall and are native to the Sonoran Desert. The saguaro blossom is the State Wildflower of Arizona. Saguaros have a relatively long life span. They take up to 75 years to develop a side arm.

Harming a saguaro in any manner, including cactus plugging, is illegal by state law in Arizona, and when houses or highways are built, special permits must be obtained to move or destroy any saguaro affected.
